I occasionally give my husband a night off from trivia!
I decided to try flying solo on a recent Thursday at McShane’s Pub.
It was a fairly rough question set, with the top scoring team finishing with just 60 points (a perfect score is 73).
I only managed to get 49 points, but I got the final question correct!
Yeah, so did a lot of other teams.
No prizes for me π’
It was a good night for my husband and I to have our respective “us” time. He stayed home and watched something on TV that I probably wouldn’t like…
And I got to do something that I love!
It’s amazing how even though it was kind of a loud room, and I sat by a boisterous team of four guys and two beer pitchers – I still somehow managed to…

It was like when I was in school and I would sit on the couch with the TV on and do my homework. I have always seemed to have functioned fairly well even when faced with distractions.
While the four guys were having their guys night out and kicking ass in the game (they finished first), I immensely enjoyed just doodling with my colorful pens – not having to talk to anyone, and not having to discuss answers to the questions!
It was “me or nobody!” For better…or worse. π
Now for some really abbreviated questions:
Round One

Oh Canada – A “Mountie” rides a Hanoverian breed of what animal?

Round Three
Trivia Math – How many individual strings are needed for a standard string quartet?
Festivals – In 2025, what city played host to the TIFF, an abbreviation for a film festival? Guessed wrong “T” city π«
Human History – Forebears to Natives are thought to have crossed a land bridge into North America via a land bridge which is now located under what sea? Don’t you hate it when you think of the right answer after you’ve already handed in your answer? Don’t you hate it even more when that happens for big points?
Halftime – Interstates
Given the name of the interstate and a city and the state in which you’d find the terminus, identify the terminus city.
It will make more sense when you see it…(I hope)! π€

Authors – What author of The Chinese Siamese Cat, which was adapted into an animated PBS series, lives in Sausalito, CA? Since I’m in a good mood today and this question killed me, I’ll make it easier for y’all. She also wrote the Joy Luck Club. There was another qualifier in the question mentioning that she also lives in a bird sanctuary or something (LOL). She’s on a bird conservancy board or something? Did not write it all down (hey I was busy playing a game soloΒ gimme a break)!
I had to use the “word of the week” freebie for this one…
Same Name – What first and last name is shared by a funk singer born in 1941 and the fourth VP of the United States?
Round Five
Science – Full disclosure, I didn’t even come close to waiting this down in its entirety. It was about bacteria, had a 12 letter word beginning with the letter P and the answer was “gram.”
You can ask Stacy what the question was next time you see her!
Sports Blowouts – On June 18, 1953, which team beat the Tigers, scoring 17 runs in the seventh inning? NOPE! βΎπ
Can I get a break this round? Pretty please oh trivia gods and goddesses?π₯Ί
