So far this year, me and my trivia team, Miskatonic University Fighting Cephalopods, have played 50 trivia games.

Most of these have been in the My Trivia Live league at McShane’s Pub in Ypsilanti, MI.

This isn’t counting the Sporcle Events music quiz games we’ve occasionally played at Ypsi’s Corner Brewery. I don’t do recaps of those games.

Why? Because games with all audio components don’t translate well to written reports!

Also, Sporcle Events only does one set of music quiz questions per week. In the event there is some random reader who plays a music quiz show later in the week after we play ours, they’d get a lifeline from a game recap!

Is that just my excuse for being lazy? 🤔

About that…

For the remainder of this year, we’re going to be flying a lot more casually with trivia games. I won’t be playing in any one spot week after week for these last few months of 2025.

We still don’t know 100 percent whether we qualified last season for the MTL semis, which are in a couple of weeks.

It was nice getting back into the trivia groove full throttle for these past nine months! It is entirely possible that next year, we’ll get back into doing that again.

This doesn’t mean our trivial pursuits are stopping. Just becoming more of a “when we feel like playing” thing than it has been for us the past few months.

It is possible we’ll play a virtual trivia game tonight. I’m waiting to hear back from a friend whom I’ve invited to join us for the game.
