It’s a big deal when I willingly go watch a movie reboot. I’m NOT a fan of reboots!

I was especially hesitant to see a reboot of a movie I absolutely adore. The Naked Gun is a top 5 movie for me. I watch it on my birthday because one of my “birthday twins” Leslie Nielsen is the star. Among other things! Including this hilarious baseball scene!

The verdict? I didn’t like it as well as the original, but I did enjoy it! My only complaints are that the plot is too much like the first Kingsman movie, the coffee gag was overplayed and Priscilla Presley – who was a major character in the first films – was relegated to a “blink and you’ll miss it” cameo. Not even a speaking line.

Honestly Pamela Anderson was the big draw for me. I’d heard that this was a great role for her, and I have to agree! The scene where she sings a nonsense song in a men’s club to distract the club owner while Frank Drebin Jr. (played by Liam Neeson) breaks into a secure room to look at security footage is hilarious!

I gotta say I’m loving Pamela Anderson’s more “au naturel” look! You can see her freckles! The eyebrows still look like they’re penciled in, but she’s not vamping it up with the heavy foundation and raccoon grade eye makeup. She was brilliant in this comedic role, and I’d love to see more of her movies!

It’s a bold move for an actress who established her “brand” as a blonde bombshell to lighten up on the makeup. She has so much natural beauty – great bone structure, and she still rocks a drop-dead figure at 58.

I’d definitely watch this again! 👍
