Some of My Favorite Zoo Shots From Today

Visited the Toledo Zoo with my husband today as a means of celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. We were probably among the very few visitors who didn’t have kiddos with them. I do kind of turn into a kid when I visit a zoo, and so does my husband.

Behold some of my favorite creatures that I saw today!

This cassowary made it very apparent that he didn’t want to be photographed. But I was persistent and patient! The cassowary is my absolute favorite bird – I love its attitude – and anger issues!
Win for getting a shot of this Tasmanian devil looking right at me!
I actually talked to this Cinereous vulture when no one was around. Not too difficult, since this wasn’t a popular exhibit. Just because this bird isn’t the prettiest – or an American symbol, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t awesome! Just look at its eyes – what a magnificent raptor it is!
This red panda was snoozing in a hammock when I first saw them. Glad it decided to wake up to entertain me! Watching red panda videos helped me cope with the stress of the pandemic.
Giant Pacific Octopus. Fantastic creature –  no matter what it does – or doesn’t! 🐙
