The horse racing world is abuzz right now with the news that ALL of the horses in the 2025 Kentucky Derby are descendants of the late, great thoroughbred horse and Trivial Pursuit answer – Secretariat.

I’ll admit that is a very, very interesting little factoid!

The 2025 winner was Sovereignty. Racehorses have to have fancy names you see – you can’t just call them Nick, Randy, Chaz, T.J. or Josh.

Funny I mentioned all dude names! Nearly all of the past Kentucky Derby winners have been stallions.

But…not ALL of them! 😁 🐴 🏆♀️
