Two pieces of big trivia news for my trivia team called “The Pods” next week!

One, it’s a new My Trivia Live season. I’ll plan to send either a “soloist” (aka me) out for the first game of the season at McShane’s Pub, or it will be a team affair. That is TBD.

Having a trivia pardner who only wants to play once a week means that the other half of the partnership needs to do some “negotiation” from time to time!

For my part, I agreed to do one more overnight when we visit his mom over Easter weekend. My limit is usually two overnights. I agreed to do three nights on the condition that we play a MTL trivia show near his mom’s house on one of those nights.

My “pardner” agreed to my terms.

I left it up to him as to whether he’ll agree to a second night of trivia next week. If he does, he’ll join me at McShane’s. If he doesn’t, I’ll go out on my own.

I’m excited to be able to play a trivia game in the same bar that my mother-in-law and late father-in-law frequented when they were Ferris State University students in the early 70s! She’s totally on board with the idea, too!

I’ve also invited one of my husband’s cousins and his wife, too. 

I don’t have any specific “plan” for McShane’s next season, but I do think our team needs to log a score for the first week.

If we do end up playing at this “up north” trivia spot, it will be the farthest north we’ve ever watched a pub trivia battle!

Before that, the farthest north we ever played was in June, 2019 in Burton, MI (a Flint ‘burb).  The bar was called BJs, which has been open for at least 50 years or so. A couple of my aunts worked here (one for sure).

BJs doesn’t do trivia nights anymore, but it’s still open! I doubt that they still have the pinball machines I played when I came in here as a kid (my mom wanted to talk to my aunt while she was working and they kept me supplied with Coca-Cola and quarters for pinball!
