Music Trivia Added to Corner Brewery Trivia Nights!

What’s that? A SECOND trivia night at the Corner Brewery you say? πŸ€” 🎡 πŸ“»

Yes it’s true! In 2012, Corner Brewery started offering weekly trivia nights on Wednesdays. Now you can also play (every other) Mondays too!

Games are 7 pm every other Monday at Arbor Brewery Microbrewery aka “Corner Brewery” in Ypsilanti, MI.

Instead of questions about populous U.S. cities, draft picks, streaming TV and Oscar winning films, you’ll have questions about…all things music! Are you a “Swiftie?” Well, what are you waiting for? This could be your chance to fill those blank spaces with things you know about her and her songs!

The Sporcle Events “Music Quiz” is exactly that – a quiz about music! Combining “name that tune” elements with typical trivia elements, players are asked to recognize songs played over the speaker, and also know a couple of other things about them, too for additional points.

A well rounded team is a must! Don’t know what “Bro Country” is  – (which was me) and maybe you’re weak on Hip-Hop (also me) – but know the difference between The Smiths and Depeche Mode/The Cure (The Smiths were guitar driven, not synth driven) and maybe know some things about about the Disco age (yo)? You just might have a chance!

Prizes are the same as for the regular trivia nights – $20 for first, $10 for second, $5 for third. We won a third place in game one, first in game two.

We played as a foursome of Gen-X gals who were all in college in the early and mid 1990s, using the ironic name “4 Non Blondes” (only two of us were actual non blondes if appearances matter)!

Kim S. was our fearless leader and definitely the star of the game, with the rest of us merely playing supporting roles. Even in a “supporting role,” it’s always nice to feel needed!

When the opening guitar riff from a 1982 British heavy metal song started playing, I got all excited – I KNEW that I would be “up to bat!” Here are some lyrics:

“Out there is a fortune waitin’ to be had
If you think I’ll let it go you’re mad…”

Then the words in the title would play, and yup, you pretty much know the name of the song!

Add knowing the band name AND lead singer, and you’ll get the music trivia “trifecta!”

We were the only team in the bar coming up with the correct name of the lead singer. True, there were only four teams playing in game two, but it was still fun!

Give music quiz a try! Even if it means having random songs floating around in your head the next day at work! I’m looking at you, Moby! πŸ˜‚
