Second Quarter Trivia Plans 2025 – ‘Pods

Now I’m gonna lay out the trivia plans for my team for this week AND beyond! How exciting!

Tonight, I’ll meet a friend and a couple of her friends for a debut music trivia game (Sporcle Events) at Ypsilanti’s Corner Brewery. I’m excited about this! I wasn’t a huge fan of music bingo, which Sporcle Events recently discontinued. I was even less of a fan of the Opinionation game that was originally going to replace music bingo (they tried it out one night).

We’re still trying to nail down where we’re going to play a “regular trivia game” this week. It’s just going to be my husband and myself. We’re looking at a Wednesday My Trivia Live joint we haven’t visited since before the pandemic. But since it’s just us, we could change our minds last minute.

The last time I played here was in December, 2018 when I showed up for a MTL semifinal game just for fun (not to play officially). It’s close to where my mom and dad live, so maybe (huge maybe) we’ll invite them! My mom tends to hit the hay very, very early (unlike me, lol), so I probably won’t ask her. I know that she’s a trivia fanatic and would probably be a help though!

So what about the new MTL season? My husband and I talked about this. We’re going to continue playing at McShane’s in Ypsi when we can, but we aren’t going to be super dedicated to playing every single week. I’m not going to shake my fist vigorously and shout “MTL semifinals or bust!” from the rooftops. However, if it does happen organically that we end up playing every week, so be it!

We are definitely eyeing playing Soorcle Events games at Original Gravity in Milan when weather warms up, since they offer outdoor games in nice weather. I have a few players who like playing here!

The bottom line is focusing on keeping trivia fun – and not too competitive!

I really like flying a lot more casual these days when it comes to trivia. And so does my husband!
