How Did The Spice Girls Come Into Existence? πŸ€” Also, Happy 30th Anniversary, Tank Girl!

As you might have guessed, the photo is a hint! Tank Girl was released March 31, 1995 and starred Lori Petty, Malcolm McDowell and an unknown Naomi Watts.

You can read a synopsis of this movie virtually anywhere, but I’ll say a couple of things about this movie!

My absolute favorite scene is the one where Tank Girl forces everyone in the room – at gunpoint – to sing Cole Porter’s showtune “Let’s Fall in Love.” When I first saw this, I was like “Hey…did somebody read my dream journal?” πŸ˜‚

I don’t much care for the “rippers,” or as I call them the “kangaroo people” introduced later in the movie. Even if rapper and occasional actor (before his Law and Order days) Ice-T played one of the creatures. Though I did catch the “Cop Killer” reference!

There is also a funny scene where Tank Girl kisses Jet Girl (played by Watts), and Jet Girl thinks it’s just a distraction, so she says with relief afterwards, “That worked!”

Tank Girl’s response is… priceless…

“What worked?” πŸ˜‰

I don’t have any idea where to stream this movie, but let’s hope my physical copy still “works!”
