Well Played, Mickey 17 Marketing People! πŸ‘

I recently saw a trailer for the dystopian sci-fi film Mickey 17 or should I say I heard it!

In particular, the hit song song from the early 1980s, sung by this woman:

“Oh Mickey you’re so fine you’re so fine you blow my mind hey Mickey!”

Way to lure me in with an ’80s ear worm! My mom bought this for me as a vinyl single when it was released and still has it in her basement. In a strange twist of fate, it came on in my car stereo for a recent commute home when my music library was on “shuffle!” Needless to say, I didn’t skip it! And I cranked up the volume!

Upon reading more about this movie, I became very intrigued by the plot. It’s apparently about a guy who dies and gets repeatedly re-cloned, and is directed by South Korean “It Boy” Bong Joon-Ho (Snowpiercer, Parasite).

It stars Robert Pattinson! I like him as an actor (no I don’t think he’s cute). Wait…is he even cute (hastily googles Robert Pattinson). Not too bad, not really my type, but he DID play a very dark version of Batman! 😍 Hey I do have a type πŸ˜‰

My Internet search about Pattinson revealed that he had long hair in some thing on Netflix about King Henry V in which he plays a French Dauphin. Female Twitter users lost their minds over this. Hmmm…maybe I’ll have to watch that one (education is so important after all πŸ˜‰πŸ˜).

More importantly, he has very successfully transitioned from child actor to tween heartthrob to legit adult actor (not THAT kind of “adult” actor ☺). He has very successfully gotten rid of the Edward the Sparkly Vampire vibe completely! Ugh, Twilight…way to ruin a good vampire saga! πŸ¦‡πŸ˜ž

Here’s a handy chart my husband made that clears up any confusion you might have about Edward:

Moving on to Pattinson movies much, much more edgy than Twilight and its pointless sequels! Anyone ever see The Lighthouse, directed by Robert Eggers, in which he starred with Willem Dafoe? That movie is seriously fucked UP!

He definitely sheds both the Edward AND Cedric Diggory characters in this one! It’s streamable in multiple places, too.

Well, go find it! Not appropriate for immature adults or kids!
