We have lost one of the oddest film directors and visionary whom ever contributed to American cinema (and groundbreaking TV). Nobody brought the weird and twisted to the big – and small- screen quite like him.

I remember reading an interview with him in Psychology Today about 25 ish years ago. He said that he never wanted therapy or psychoanalysis because he feared that finding out what made him so f—-ed up might negatively affect his art.

I’ll never forget watching Blue Velvet on my prom night with friends! It was way more fun than a silly dance would have been!
