It hasn’t been a good year for my team to qualify for trivia tournaments. π
Globe Games for Sporcle Events and My Trivia Live semis/finals are in December. What we thought was going to be a spot for us to qualify for the MTL semis/finals stopped offering trivia almost as soon as we started playing there. We barely qualified for Globe Games in June by playing at a spot opening late in the season, and qualified for MTL semis/finals in August by playing just three games.
Even if we do squeak into the MTL big games next month, I think we’ll sit them out or give our spot to some other team. Just finding players for two consecutive weekends was a monumental effort last summer, and I don’t see how doing the same in December will be any easier.
We havenβt played enough games in any one spot to make a run at the Globe Games. So those are probably out too.
Really, that’s OK by me! I prefer a zen Han Solo approach:
As for our current trivia “plans,” at least one more MTL game is on the calendar for McShane’s next week, but Halloween week will not work out for trivial pursuits for us. It’s kind of a sacred holiday!
Next weekend, I have to go to a wedding reception in Michigan’s UP. A shared car wirh my parents and husband? Should be interesting! π€ They want to pick us up at 5:30 a.m. the first day π΄
I’m try my best to look at the bright side. I haven’t been to the UP in more than five years, and I haven’t even met the guy my niece married in July in Alaska! It’s always great seeing Lake Michigan from the UP (there really isn’t anything quite like it).
As for November? No real plans yet. Need to see what days I have off, or get out early enough to get ready for a game. Good news is I’m hearing rumors at work that schedules will open up a bit!
That’s all I have for now.
