Do We Look Like a Trivia Team With a “Plan?”

And so another Sporcle Events Season has begun. What is my team “The Pods” (shortened version of Miskatonic University Fighting Cephalopods) going to do?

Ya got me there! I honestly don’t know!

I haven’t set any real sights on any one trivia spot to play week after week. We’ll definitely be in “summer mode” for quite a while. The “hybrid” model which may include occasional virtual games is likely to continue. We’ll pop in at some of our favorite local – and not so local – spots when we have the time and players to do so – even in other leagues besides Sporcle!

I have decided to finish out the current My Trivia Live season at a local bar, just as a favor to the host, since she said the show is struggling. After that season ends in about a week or so, I have no real desire to play there week after week, like we did before the pandemic. I won’t rule out playing occasional games there if the show isn’t canceled, I just can’t commit to regular weekly games at one spot anymore.

I do “plan” to hit up a trivia night in Cheboygan, Michigan in mid August while my husband and I are on a camping trip in the area. This will be the northernmost trivia battle we’ve ever waged! As for the southernmost trivia battle we ever waged, that distinction falls to a Geeks Who Drink trivia game in Staunton, Virginia in October, 2017. We didn’t much care for that trivia league’s rapid-fire question format, though we did like the historic building and happy hour which extended to 8 pm! My husband told me that the men’s room had an actual old timey bathtub with a shower!

Unless we do a virtual game next week, we don’t have any plans to go out for any games. Not going to work out with my work schedule 😐

Happy early Fourth of July, everyone!
