New Trivia Adventures Begin This Week…

Starting today, we’ll be taking a break from trivia games at our “regular ” Sunday trivia spot. The early game start time occasionally cuts into our Sundays a bit too much, in addition to other annoying things about this trivia spot. Our subpar game performance over the past three months may have a LITTLE to do with thisd decision, too! But really…these games have become too much of a chore lately, and not really that enjoyable anymore.

Let the wild card trivia adventures begin! I’ve already begun to look into other nearby spots to test our trivia mettle in two different trivia leagues. I know we won’t always pass the test with the limited number of players that we have, but damn it – we really need to hit that “reset” button and see what happens!

What nights we go out totally depend on what nights work best for my husband’s and my work schedules. Those nights can vary from week to week, especially since I work in “Retailville.”

About the picture I used with this post…art from the single “Ship of Fools,” a 1986 song by the British band World Party. It remains one of my favorite songs of all time, one that never gets skipped when it pops up on shuffle. The compelling (at times provocative) lyrics, bluesy vibe underscored by Kurt Wallinger’s crooning, passionate vocals and the underlying cynicism- all add up to this being a unique, great hidden 80s gem of a song…give it a listen if you can! Maybe you’ll end up liking it as much as I do, or you’ll decide it’s not for you. That’s what’s wonderful about music – the beautiful subjectivity of it all.

As a side note, I wanted this song to be in my Joker songs mystery round in my recent “birthday trivia questions” set. I decided against it because I thought it was too much of a “deep cut.”

I’m really looking forward to mixing things up again – like we did a lot more in the early days!
