These words were uttered in a completely droll fashion by Constable George Crabtree (shown above) in the season 16 episode of Murdoch Mysteries titled “Virtue and Vice” which had a plot line involving erotic Japanese art.

The long-running Canadian series is set in late 19th and early 20th century Toronto. It streams on the Acorn service, though I am currently watching a physical DVD copy lent by my local library.
