We Only Played Fifty-Four Trivia Games In 2023?

The number 54 made me think of the famous New York disco Studio 54, and this was the image best matching the word “disco” when I searched my image library. Although I didn’t search for Andy Gibb, Saturday Night Fever, or “Heb in disco outfit.” Hmmm…let’s see:

My laziness about using an old photo rather than searching for a new one only illustrates my point about how lazy our trivia team was to have only played 54 trivia games (both in person and virtual) in 2023, compared to 122 games played in 2021 or 2022. Whenever I was so inclined to count most recently (meh).

The year 2023 was a big one for me and my trivia team (such as it is), in that we started playing live trivia games in earnest for the first time since you know what…the plague. We may have been a bit more hesitant about going “out” for trivia than other players/teams, but everyone transitions differently! And by that I mean transitioning from being a stay at home virtual trivia team – to one that ventures out for it. It was a struggle for my husband and I for sure! Both of us regressed socially as a result of the stay-at-home orders and other things.

I may not have the teammates to help out much anymore, but we always try to do our very best with less! Like your mom shopping with coupons!

The year ain’t over, we very well could go out for one more game in 2023. Though…not likely.

I’m happy we’re going out and mixing things up with trivia foes new and auld again. The virtual games just left me feeling empty after a while. Also…so much cheating.

Thanks everyone for reading my pointless blog posts. Stay tuned in 2024 for even more pointlessness! We’ll continue playing at the YpsiAlehouse in 2024, though probably only just enough to qualify for the venue tourney and Globe Games!

Doing more…with less! Our new team slogan? 🤔

You still want to see Disco Heb? OK, but you’ll never, ever see the old “tutu” photos unless I’m dead or being blackmailed!

OK:

The forehead scab is from an ill advised bicycle stunt gone awry! Circa 1978…
