We’ll be out for a trivia game tonight. The finish line for the season is approaching, and we’re gearing up for our first “venue tournament” in at least four years. We used to play in a few of these things a year in two different trivia leagues. Sometimes they are referred to as “semifinals.”

They used to be a chance to establish bar supremacy and go to tournaments for cash prizes. The pandemic put a stop to tournaments, for the most part, but not completely. My Trivia Live is still serving up tournaments, in fact, I’m seeing that they had one yesterday. Special shout out to Keerok for taking it all, we borrowed one of their players for a tournament in July 2017 (we won first place). The player we borrowed has since moved out of state (hello David if you’re reading this)!

I don’t really have the players to bring to tournaments anymore, and barely have enough for bar games! I’m fine with tournaments being in my rear view. But I still want a taste of some good competition every now and then! And the gift cards are nice, too!

Will we attempt a Sporcle “cash tour” game? Maybe!
