I’ll allegedly have at least three ‘Pods for a live trivia game tonight!

This season, we have been rotating between a couple of local trivia joints – YpsiAlehouse on Sundays, and Sticks on Thursdays, scheduling games when we have at least three players available and when my schedule allows. My work schedule these days doesn’t seem to allow for “same place, same time every week” trivia games! I’m working longer shifts and later in the day than I used to have to work. But everyone needs money, right? I have to work on (yuck) Saturday this weekend, thankfully U of M football traffic won’t interfere with my commute. That makes me super cranky! I get all fist shaky and yelling “Get out of my town,” while thinking in the back of my mind, “Well, they are trying to get out of your town, stupid!”

We’re not exactly dominating either trivia spot, but that’s OK! We’re in ninth place at Sticks, but have only played one game out of four so far and have eight “globe” points. I have no idea what “globe points” mean, I guess they count toward qualifying for end of season games or something? Joe Sporcle gear? Anyone else remember Camel Cash? I’ll bet the items people “bought” with their “Camel cash” might be worth something to collectors now! Just remember the gear you buy probably has a stale smoke smell and may be slightly yellowed (eww)!

At the Alehouse, we’ve played two of the four games and are in fourth, so we are doing a little better there. We’ve won a couple of second place $10 gift cards.

This will be our 789th Sporcle game that we’ve played, which brings us all the closer to our 800th game! We’ll try to celebrate that benchmark by doing a virtual game with as many players in the Zoom as we can summon, since we don’t have as many players for live games as we used to have.

I’ll have a recap of tonight’s game posted (probably) within 48 hours of the game. Or when I feel perky enough to do it (whichever comes first)!
