The live trivia scene at Sticks in Ypsilanti, is anything but predictable! A large group of what appeared to be – for lack of a better word – 70-80 somethings – had taken over a good chunk of the room where the trivia host Ashley usually sets up shop. I made the terrible joke that maybe it was an 80th high school reunion crowd? At one point, the poor trivia host was pretty much pushed up against the wall with her tablet in hand!
Eventually, the microfiber golf polo, mint green golf shorts and white capri- wearing crowd dissipated a bit. But for every one of them who left, three more seemed to pour in! If they were playing the trivia game, they might have enjoyed the question we had about 60s music! And of those “seniors” wearing a Hawaiian shirt cut in front of our friend Brad in the drink line and allowed others to cut with him! Was he trying to impress one of the silver vixens with his brazenness?
If anyone was missing a parent, grandparent or great-grandparent Thursday, they might have found ‘ em at Sticks! š¤£
We wanted to play that night just because it was our 69th game at Sticks, and we just couldn’t pass up that milestone! I also had a rare Thursday off work, and we learned right before the game that our power was turned back on! It had been off a little more than 24 hours. At least we fared better than the homeowners about a mile from us who had a yuge tree bite the dust in the storm and take out part of the house!
