Where will the ‘Pods be waging trivia battle this week? Monday at Sticks – and also Wednesday at The Owl. Unless a decent “early”  Thursday spot opens locally in the near future, Thursday games are likely off for a while since I’m probably going to be working a lot more Fridays.

A Thursday “Face the Music” game at the Bench Pub is not going to happen next week. Those will be touch and go for a while. Between my changing work schedule and my trivia pardner’s child-oriented schedule – it will be difficult to plan those games.

We’re going to continue trying to hold onto our lead at Sticks on Monday. If we play five more games at The Owl, we will have logged 12 total games. Even though we’re not playing there in official “contention,” it will still be kind of cool to land in second place at The Owl at the end – when the other teams’ lower scores have been deleted (only the top 12 scores count). The number two and number three teams at the Owl really aren’t…that good (though I do find the name Bald for the Win kind of amusing). It’s always good to have a “team to beat” (and to also BE the team to beat)!

But this all depends upon when the new Bobcat Bonnie’s spot opens in Ypsilanti (games are also on Wednesdays)- and whether we’ll try to play there this season – or wait until the off season to check them out. I haven’t thought that far ahead yet!

There is some discussion about doing a Tuesday trivia night on Tuesday, October 8 for World Octopus Awareness Day. What better day for a trivia team with a cephalopod mascot to go out and try to win some trivia prizes? It might be a tough sell, since we already play Mondays and my “better half” has said he doesn’t like playing on consecutive nights. So we’ll see!
