Trivia plans for the ‘Pods this week will be the same as last week – Monday at Sticks – and Wednesday at The Owl. I have to work Friday, so a late night game Thursday will be…unwise (though tempting – since there is a team playing that night that I love the chance to rough up a bit lol)! Oh well…I guess I’ll just have to “settle” for roughing up the top dogs at The Owl (JK…JK…but not really)! I don’t want to stand in the way of them winning their Wednesday spot… (repeat) I don’t want to stand in the way of them winning their Wednesday spot (really I don’t)!
Mondays, we need to start logging scores above 147 – and not log any scores below…100. Our main competitors there are apparently much better at answering the sports questions than we are – (a NBA question final question last week really narrowed the score gap between our two teams). It’s been rough – we can typically only get three “regulars” to come out to the Monday games, though occasionally we’ll get lucky and get Dave and or Joel in the mix (always sweet when we get both)! Evan has been an essential part of our Wednesday/Thursday lineups, and he’s been flexible about playing in either of our normal Wednesday/Thursday spots (though I know he prefers Sticks on Thursdays)!
Seven weeks to go – will this season end in triumph – or tragedy – for the ‘Pods? Or more realistically – will we win a coveted “first day pick” semifinal spot – or will we have to wait until day two? Honestly, the thought of playing in tournaments during my busiest and most stressful time of the year at work almost makes me want to make like a cephalopod and hide under the nearest rock! What would THAT look like?
