A co -worker of mine was playing a strings  tune  on her phone  in the lockers area at work earlier. And until just now, it…haunted me. I had to figure it out! What was that song? I knew it was from a musical, movie, stage show…something by Henry Mancini? Miss Saigon? Some old melody I remember  from high school marching band? Even if my band didn’t  play it?

Yep! I just confirmed via  YouTube… the melody I heard was Think of Me, from The Phantom  of the Opera. My own band never played  any  selections  from Phantom,  but  a rival high school band did (at band competitions  we had to watch other  bands perform). I was secretly jealous of the band that got to do Phantom! Maybe  they were jealous  that our band did selections  from Cats…

Go ahead. Try living inside my brain  for a day! It’s  not  everyone  who can be tortured  by a mere song!
