Our regular trivia night is called off tonight because of Labor Day. So we’ll regroup and play Wednesday at The Owl in Milan, where we haven’t played for at least a couple of weeks (still have some leftover prize money to use).
Brad is going to a renaissance festival today, and will likely be too pooped out from parading around in his costume all day to come to a trivia game (LOL) – even if we found a spot that isn’t canceled tonight. Yes, he has costumes he wears to renaissance fairs. Once at a renaissance festival, I saw someone wearing an old Welcome Back Kotter beach towel – as a cape! Amazing the towel has held up this long…any old items made of cotton will tend to break down after a while, even if the moths don’t manage to nibble ’em…

I also had a chance to see one of the biggest dog breeds – meet one of the smallest at a renaissance festival (here you can see a chihuahua meet a great dane:

Sometimes it can be fun to go a renaissance festival! But there is a certain snobbery about them, with the costumed folks looking down on folks who just wear their regular street clothes. Also, renaissance fairs are designed to take your money at every turn! If you like people watching, though – fuhgettaboutit…
