You won’t find any articles about Paramount potato chips on Wikipedia. But ask anyone who lived in the “mid Michigan” (Flint/Genesee County, Lapeer County, Shiawassee County, Saginaw County) areas of Michigan during the 1960s through early 1990s will likely remember Paramount potato chips and its “flavor deputy” Slim Chiply! Most of the information I’ve found online states that Paramount just couldn’t compete in the all-important shelf space war with the “big guys” from Frito-Lay. Better Made, a Michigan-based snack company, is still in operation. I have heard rumors that someone living in Flint still has an unopened bag of these! I have just one word…RANCID! Paramount even had a jingle for these chips!
