One of my best  friends  is a Scottish deer hound owner. They are a breed of dog bulkier  than  a greyhound  –  and every  bit as hairy as an Irish  wolf hound, only with a slighter build. They  are not the most popular of AKC dog breeds, but  they  have a loyal  following. Two theatrically  released  films  in which you can see these dogs include Harry Potter  and the Prisoner  of Azkaban  and Out of Africa. Hickory, a “deerie,” won the Westminster dog show a few years  ago.
