Fact Du Jour – July 6, 2019 – Tempe Owls Football Team

Did you know that Arizona State University’s teacher’s college (which was called Tempe Normal School) originally had an owl as a mascot – and later – a bulldog? Now, the mascot for Arizona State is Sparky the Sun Devil….

Arizona State’s original name, when established in 1885, was Territorial Normal School in Tempe, which is where its campus is located today.
