Tonight  will mark the first  time  my  trivia  team  has  played  a “regulation” MTL trivia  game in more  than two months (MTL finals April 27 where I was a “guest”player  doesn’t  count). Though  one  of the things  happening  at the finals kind  of help set tonight’s “field trip” in motion, if you will!

A rowdy, hard-drinking  group of “guyz” representing  BJ’s bar in Burton, MI sat near  my team at the finals, and one of their “orphans” sat  by my husband  at  the bar. The “guyz” all wore shirts from BJ’s  with the famous “dancing  sandwiches” slogan on them. Their excitement  about  being  at their first trivia tournament  was  palpable! I could relate, since the team I sat with was also at their first trivia “finals.”

I decided months  before that  I wanted to play a trivia  game here, but seeing this boisterous  bunch  at finals  “sealed  the deal.” I was going  to make this game  happen! How can you  NOT go into the “dancing  sandwiches” bar ? 😉
