Sometimes I “attempt” to figure out why people visit this blog site. And I’ve noticed something…interesting! I tend to get the most blog visitors around trivia tournament times. That should be a big “duh,” right?
Consider this – the day AFTER a trivia tournament I played in on April 27? I had 114 total blog views. On the two days after that, blog views remained high at 105 each day. I was going through some…”stabby” emotions at the time, so I think perhaps you guys were…entertained (hey glad I could help)?Β On June 7 – the day BEFORE a trivia tournament? 128 views. Those are my two highest days for blog views since…April 21, when I had 111 (or as Bilbo Baggins would say, “eleventy-one”) views. Oh yes…that was the day AFTER MTL semifinals!
A record high was Dec. 2, 2018 after the Sporcle Live league championship (176 views).
Despite the “negativity” I…absorbed from the last seconds of being at the MTL finals, I am not ruling out being a “hired gun” again – if asked. And would SOMEONE give me a f—ing medal for NOT saying, “You call that winning” to a team that won a tournament spot – but no prize money on Saturday? JK, JK! I’m glad they came from behind (behind us, for the record) to get a spot. And I’m glad being at the “big game” means that much to them. There are a couple of teams I’m putting my “money” on for taking it all at finals, and theirs is NOT one of them! Please note that it’s “play” money I’m putting on these teams (I’m not a gambler).
Sigh…I’m happy to put this trivia season behind me – and start thinking about some summer adventures! A friend of mine said she and her husband bought a cottage on a lake and would love for us to come up and visit this summer!
Unless I happen to find a “field correspondent” willing to supply questions from the Sporcle Live state championship next week, you blog readers will just have to wonder about what kinds of questions might be asked about in this game! But then, some of you blog readers will be AT this game anyway, right? π I know, I know – it’s not the same to just be “at” the game – and not be able to read one of my game recaps after the fact! I know how entertaining it must be to read about how we utterly, utterly failed on some question about some obscure TV show that ran for just two episodes, a question about countries bordering Liechtenstein, or a question about blind transsexual Grammy Award winners. Maybe we’ll make it to the next championship? We’ll see!
