What’s Next On The “Quitting” Chopping Block? Saltine Crackers!

I’ve decided that I want to try to give up…crackers. Hey…if I could give up cigarettes, why not saltines?

On our most recent grocery run, we didn’t buy any packages of saltine crackers. I’ve decided I want to try giving them up. Cutting out carbs by stopping drinking beer is absolutely out of the question – so why not find other ways to cut back on those evil carbs?

Sometimes I’ll just munch on saltines while something is heating up in the microwave, while I’m cooking dinner, etc. Those empty calories…add up.

If I wind up having a relapse, you blog readers will be the first to know!

Other “dietary” things I’m trying out lately – eating more fruits and vegetables, eating more fiber, making one meal a day a salad, etc. Grapes are great for snackaholics – they’re filling – and are a great thing to just eat by the handful without feeling too guilty (plus can satisfy sweets cravings). Also…sunflower seeds! They’re full of lots of healthy stuff – and can fill the “salty snack” void quite well.

I’m also trying an “apple a day” thing, too.

Now to work on becoming a better trivia player (LOL)!
