This is the second in a series of “mini blogs” about a recent trip to the west coast of Michigan.
The Lake Michigan beach at Mears State Park in Pentwater (north of Muskegon, south of Ludington) is undoubtedly the “star” of this state park! When we visited the weekend of May 17-May 19, 2019 for our wedding anniversary, the campground was barely full – but beginning Memorial weekend and most summer weekends you’re likely to see it at capacity!
The park was celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Michigan State Parks system while we were visiting, and they had a bonfire on the beach to mark the occasion…
