Could It Be? Will March’s Weather Finally Step Up – And End On A Good Note?

March has just four more days to prove that it didn’t completely suck when it comes to weather! Tuesday, we took a short walk in Ypsilanti’s North Bay Park, and were encouraged to see that Ford Lake is now – finally – entirely clear of ice. But that wasn’t quite enough…I also wanted to see turtles!

Usually on a warm day, turtles sunning themselves on logs/branches are a common sight. I was really hoping to see turtles on our walk, and my husband said:

“No, it’s still too cold for turtles to be out.”

Then, a bit later, what did we see? A turtle! I could not get photos of this brave little reptile, as its brown color blended in too well with the water in which it was swimming and… the picture wouldn’t have turned out.  But it was a turtle all right! Barely bothered to emerge out of the water, doing so only briefly to take a breath. We stood there and just watched it swim around a bit.

Today, it’s supposed to be a bit warmer, and we’re going to visit the same park again and hopefully, see MORE turtles! And I will have my camera (pictures or it didn’t happen), so smile, for the camera, turtles!
