I absolutely LOATHE awards shows of any kind. The last time I watched an awards show on purpose was when Seth MacFarlane hosted the Oscars in 2013 – and even then – I asked my folks to record the show on their DVR so I was able to skip through all of the “nonsense.” And I was not even offended by his infamous “We Saw Your Boobs” musical number! Nor was I offended when he “pretended” to hit on Sally Field backstage. I have some strange…sensibilities!
I don’t know why I have such a distaste for awards shows. But it MIGHT have something to do with the overblown musical numbers, a very disastrous one of which occurred at the 1989 Oscars, which you can read more about here:

Eileen Bowman at the 1989 Oscars with Rob Lowe. Apparently this musical number – masterminded by EGOT owner Marvin Hamlisch – ruined her budding career. This song and dance number went on for an agonizing…15 minutes. Actor Martin Landau told The Hollywood Reporter that “She had a look on her face, if I remember correctly, of pain.”
Just because I don’t like awards shows doesn’t mean I don’t care about who WINS the awards! One of the things I’ve managed to do – because of my “trivial pursuits” is be able to name every single movie which has won best picture since 1927. Some of the “major” ones before 1960 (such as Casablanca, It Happened One Night, Rebecca, Gone With the Wind, Bridge on the River Kwai, Hamlet) I can place with a year, and after that, I can name them in order with their release years.

The dice I rolled to randomly “pick” the 2019 Oscar winners.
When the Oscar nominees were announced in January, I rolled two different multi-sided dice to randomly “pick” the 2019 Oscar winners. I rolled the d10 to pick the best picture winners – and rolled a d6 (aka a standard die you would find in any board game) to pick the other winners – re-rolling and adding one in the cases of rolling a 6 (there were five nominees in each category).
The “bones” knew what they were doing this year! Five of the winners randomly picked by the bones were also picked as the “actual” winners! Actual winners will be in red, and the winners randomly picked by the “bones” will be in blue. Categories in which the “bones” picked the winners will be denoted with a triple asterisk ***.
