When One Door Closes Another Door Opens?

I’m not going to lie. I was feeling downright…like Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles earlier today. Not because people forgot my birthday, but because I had to call off my initial birthday plans because of a “storm watch.” SURE the storm might not happen. But I’d rather make the call and call off a non-essential drive now then have tonight’s plans “hinge” on weather.

I can barely STAND to watch this movie now (Jesus she is so whiny in this)! Though I do like the movie’s soundtrack…here is Molly Ringwald from Sixteen Candles.

Turns out Monday is a pretty darn good day to have a birthday…at Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor! Let’s see, all day happy hour (check). multiple appetizers half off (check, even if I don’t like any of them), and birthday boys and girls get a free meal. AND they have a basic “pub” menu in their lounge, so I don’t have to get a “fancy pants” meal. London broil might be on special, but it just isn’t my “thing”  I can get basic pub grub. The snowy crap isn’t supposed to start until after 8 – if it decides to show up at all – so hitting Weber’s for happy hour sounds like all signs point to “yes!”

I told the person on the phone that she made me a very “happy woman.”

Plans still on to play some board games with some friends later this evening. Shall I break out my Trivial Pursuit game? Make my husband play against me? Or play the Wild West game “Bang?” Why not play both?

I certainly don’t expect to be spoiled on my birthday. But it’s fun to get out and at least get a change of scenery! And…get some free stuff!

Off to lunch!
