Eliza Dushku in a cheerleader outfit always says it best 🙂
I finally got word today from Sporcle Live about how my team finished in last Saturday’s league championship game. And since you already saw the Eliza Dushku meme (and might still be staring at it now…ahem, I’m not judging you! I really liked her cheerleader tryout scene in Bring It On, too!
That said, now for a “thank you” to my teammates:
I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to my trivia teammates from last Saturday’s Sporcle Live league championship game at Ashley’s Westland. Turns out we wound up finishing in a tie for eighth place after the final question with 108 points (we were in a tie for 17th heading into the final). In a weird twist of irony, this was a season we weren’t even really trying that hard to get to the finals! Yet I don’t think I ever saw my team work as hard as they did on tournament day. “Teamwork” doesn’t even begin to cover it! “Well-oiled machine” is more like it! It hurt blowing 10 points on that Schoolhouse Rock question, but the little “victories” interspersed throughout both games far outweighed that…hiccup!
It was a true “fingers crossed” moment after we handed it what we believed was the correct final question answer, it was just not to be that we would finish in the top five. Special thanks to Mike, Brad, Dave and Evan for coming out (and especially Evan for knowing the final question answer almost…immediately)! Each of us had our “a-ha” moments during the game, and all of us pulled our weight. Yes, maybe it was a bit bossy of me to say “do the math” after coming up with the years James Dean and Amy Winehouse died, but my teammates didn’t disappoint! As Eric Cartman would say…”I love you guys!”

I really do love ’em! Sure, we may bicker and be a bit cantankerous…but truth be told, they’d all pretty much follow me into Hell if I asked them to!
