What To Say About Today? Well…I Voted!

I’m not feeling terribly inspired – and  don’t really have much to say on this grey, rainy, November day – other than that… I voted! I was almost voter #600 at my polling place between 12:30 and 1 p.m. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Poll workers said that for the last midterm election in 2014, there were about 800 voters total for the ENTIRE day!

Being that I’m absolutely NOT a fan of waiting in line, I’m glad my wait was short. But I’m happy to hear there is increased voter turnout!

I plan to go out to a trivia game at Tower Inn in Ypsilanti tonight, so I’ll have a game recap posted on Wednesday. Unsure if I’ll be able to play at OG Thursday or not. The Thursday games are ALWAYS subject to “negotiation!” The main reason being? Transportation. My husband and I share one car. Also, I only have one other player (besides me) who likes playing at OG – and it’s NOT my husband. These things happen. Just because you’re married, it doesn’t mean you see eye to eye on everything. It’s actually good for couples to have their separate activities – I’m more than happy to let him have “guy’s nights” every now and then if it means I get to escape to a trivia game! Likewise, he’s always happy to let me out for trivia games with Kim every now and then (so sad the Face the Music games are no more…I miss them)!  Sometimes it’s enough just for me to get out on my own for an evening – enjoy the silence – ya know? What did Axl Rose say about that in November Rain? “Sometimes I need some time…on my own…sometimes I need some time…all alone?” It’s very true!

I may have to voluntarily sit out the game at OG this week, which will put me in a stronger negotiating position to play in the Nov. 15 venue tournament. I’ve played in five venue tournaments so far at OG, winning tournament spots in two of those (in July, 2017 and July, 2018). Some of them I just like sitting in on “for fun,” with no tourney spot on the line. I definitely don’t want to miss this game, even if I will just be a “spectator.”

See y’all in the next recap on Wednesday!
