Trivia Update…

Hey blog readers! Things are starting to really pick up at work for me, so I’m looking to “simplify” my trivial pursuits until the end of the year – or when things calm down a bit at work (whichever comes first). That said, our “weekly” trivia games – IF they happen – will be on Tuesdays (venues TBD, but Tower Inn in Ypsilanti and Haymaker in Ann Arbor are both possible spots).  Trivia nights at Original Gravity will be on hold indefinitely until the end of the year, and after that, will only occur on a “weather permitting” basis (i.e., I won’t be driving out there in inclement weather). Haymaker’s 7 p.m. start time is a nice draw (not to mention the prizes) and Tower Inn is VERY close to home – which is also a draw! I’m not really a fan of that weird girl who brings her dog to trivia games at Tower Inn (I sneeze every time the dog walks by). I dare not ask, but I think she’s just passing the dog off as a service dog, but it’s probably just one of those “therapy animals,” or whatever the Hell these softie Gen Y/millennials are calling these damn things. Hey…I totally understand! Without my therapy Tasmanian devil I would just fall to PIECES! I just couldn’t…EVEN! By the way, I did a blog about these animals a while back, which you can read here.

As always, my trivia plans are subject to change! On weeks where I am fortunate enough to have Fridays off, Thursday games at OG may be put back on the “menu.” I don’t see me having too many Fridays off until MAYBE December. We’ll see…

I am 99 percent sure I’ll be playing at OG’s venue tournament Nov. 15, even though it will be just a bid for gift cards (not a tournament spot).

That’s about it for now! Our next trivia night is “most likely” to be tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 23). We also tentatively plan to play “Devil’s Night” next Tuesday since the scheduling gods were kind enough to give me Halloween day off from work next week (I’m very, very excited about that development)!

If anyone reading this also happens to be a player at OG, try not to miss me too much (yeah….RIGHHHT)! “Cher” from the movie Clueless can speak better than me about this…

Me not playing just means more prize money for all of the other teams. It’s a win-win!  I have to do what’s best for my sanity, mental health, and the pursuit of precious, precious (and elusive) sleep. I will definitely think about making Thursday at least a semi-regular trivia night in 2019 (most likely starting in the spring)! Sounds far off, but it really isn’t! I do love the trivia nights at OG, but they’ll just have to be put on hold for now.

See y’all in the funny pages! Or the next time I post a blog on here…
