Fellow Michiganians, behold how our state has changed! Five county names in Northern MI were changed (among others). Four current Michigan counties share their names with county names in Ireland – Clare, Antrim, Roscommon and Wexford. For comparison, here’s a more current Michigan map (that includes the whole Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale). All in all it’s not really a bad map considering they didn’t have satellites, aerial photography and the U.S. Geological Survey.
