My team didn’t play in any pub trivia games Thursday night, so it FIGURES that we would have gotten at least one of the final questions correct:
“Michelle Kwan was one of the favorites to win the gold medal at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics in ladies’ singles figure skating, but she instead finished with a silver and bronze. Name either of the two skaters who won the gold medal over Kwan.”
The only reason I know this answer is because of having flunked a question about this topic previously! I actually did a blog about this very topic last February, which you can read here. Sometimes when you get “spanked” hard enough by a trivia question you get incorrect, the pain is enough to help you remember the answer every single time you get asked about the topic! Though I will not name any particular U.S. presidents, there is one that I know still makes the blood of certain trivia players boil six years after he was asked about. “His Accidency” indeed! That’s not really a huge hint, there was more than one U.S. president who was bestowed with the nickname “His Accidency!”
The other question final question Thursday would have elicited a total “not it” response from me! A whole lotta nope on this one…
“Five different people has served as judges on at least six seasons of America’s Got Talent. Name four of those five people.”

It was nice skipping this game. I’m looking forward to flying a bit more casually this coming trivia season! Though I don’t plan to play every week at Original Gravity, I’ll still come out for some of those games! The allure of good weather was just a little too much to pass up last night. Plus, I was in kind of a “funk” and just not feeling the whole trivia thing. Sometimes people need to take a break from even the things/people they love! And a break was exactly what I needed.
Onward MTL finals ho! That’s where me and my team will be Saturday. Wish us luck, or if you’re playing on a rival team, wish that we do really poorly! Who knows? I may be wishing the same thing for YOUR team! All I ask is that please, please don’t do horrible things to voodoo dolls that slightly resemble players on my team (please make sure the voodoo doll representing me has a tiny pet octopus). Actually, on second thought – it would be really cool to see voodoo doll representations of the players on my team! I just don’t want horrible things to happen to them (but that goes without saying). Stay tuned! I’ll be reporting on how we do Saturday right here on this blog site. Cheers!
