Editor’s Note: This is a trivia “update” from five years ago today, originally posted on my Facebook profile. My trivia team qualified for the “finals” trivia tournament, which was scheduled the day after a beer festival. Three of the five players on our team that day were hung over! Playing a trivia tournament with a hangover is not medal-worthy in and of itself, mind you! In fact, it can be par for the course, unfortunately! This game was played at Buffalo Wild Wings Ann Arbor. We didn’t do so hot that day, but I’m not going to blame that on the hangovers! At the time, we were playing with a millennial named Scott L., whom I’d picked up in a bar. Seriously that’s pretty much what happened (Red Rock Downtown Barbecue, as I recall). I was impressed that he knew a tough sports final question that vexed a rival team.  But it was purely trivia business! Get your minds out of the gutter! Does that make me a “trivia whore?” Probably! I’ll own that!

My trivia team Miskatonic University Fighting Cephalopods is playing in Sporcle Live – Detroit trivia finals in Ann Arbor today. Wish myself, Mike, Brad, Dave and Scott luck as we go into cranial battle with more than other 60 teams in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti/Metro Detroit region for coveted cash prizes/bragging rights. Good luck also going out to Corn Fritters, Don’t Forget to Strip Your Bartender, Gentlemen Kangaroos and More Beer Less Pants (all listed alphabetically), fellow Corner Brewery teams who will also be battling it out in finals today.
