It’s been a while since we had a trivia night quite like the Sporcle Live games we played Saturday at Oscar’s Sports & Grill! Getting BOTH final questions correct (IKR)?
😯 But wait…hold the phone…we couldn’t have possibly wagered full points on both of them too, could we? Uh, yeah! Well then…surely that must’ve meant we finished first for the night, right? Uh…(looks off to the side). Yeah, I guess we can’t have EVERYTHING, can we? Winning one first place ($15) and one second place prize ($10) was still kind of nice! One of the answers came very, very easily, the other took a… bit of work and required a bit of “delving” into memories/mental images from way, way back in pop culture history! We finished with a respectable 149 points for the night, second place overall. We are in third place at the bar overall among qualified teams. Saturday, we had a trio of players who battled the following questions…
Game One

6. Lawn Games – Within one, how many feet apart should cornhole boards be according to the American Cornhole Association? 3

9. Current TV – Audio clue of a singing sequence from a TV series starring Andy Samberg that premiered on Fox in 2013, got for 6.
10. ’80s Movies – (after missing the soccer question earlier, I said I would be “fired” if I missed this one…) What character from a 1988 film says, “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way?” 2

I remember my eighth grade science teacher really getting into teaching us about parasites in gruesome detail (thank you Mr. Francis for helping me on yet another trivia night)! Got this for 10
5. Shakespeare Adaptations – Amanda Bynes and Tatum Channing starred in what 2006 adaptation of Shakespear’s “Twelfth Night?” Please don’t correct me on the name of that second actor (LOL). This is the way I think his name SHOULD be! Miss for 5. Ouch!

Final Category – TV Episodes
“Job Switching” is the title of the premiere episode of the second season of what TV series?
The episode ranked in the top 10 of TV Guide’s 1996 list of the “100 Most Memorable Moments in TV History”.
We were initially kind of confused by the question, but wound up getting this (this was actually a big a-ha moment for Mike, so nicely done).
Final Scores: Let’s Get It, 83; ‘Pods, 70.
We will be taking a bit of a break from playing here again, since we have a “makeup” game we will need to play this coming Friday. Our next trivia outing will be Monday, so look for the next recap on Tuesday. As always, Go Pods, and stay classy, Fred Willard!
