Sometimes the best way to figure out which trivia team is which is to hear which team cheers the loudest when they get a tough final question. On that note, now I FINALLY know who the team “Where’s Trey” are at Original Gravity Brewing Co. ! They are one of a couple of “megateams” in the mix, which (usually) means that when they are forced to “slim down” their roster to five for a tournament game – they will probably suck. This doesn’t mean they can’t cause some problems during the regular season, by winning gift cards and being able to log more tournament points. They are a team I’ll definitely have to keep an eye on (two eyes when I can spare them).

For that final venue tournament game, it’s most likely going to be a battle between us, Big Heads Big Hearts (especially if the team More Beer Less Pants does not qualify at Johnny’s Grill – if THIS happens, I’m very, very, very concerned about our chances of winning a spot at OG this season), This is Sparta and Where’s Trey. If we don’t make it here, we will have to (again) use Oscar’s as a spot to try to qualify for finals, which we have done for the past two seasons. After Saturday, I’ll just have two more games to play there to log the minimum seven games.

If past venue tournaments are any indicator, the most “experienced” teams will probably prevail when push comes to shove at the next venue tournament July 26. It will most likely be a battle between us and Big Heads, Big Hearts – especially if it’s me bringing a whole team that NEEDS to win a spot versus me just showing up there and playing solo for S&Gs because of barhop, etc. Even though me playing by myself at a venue tournament wound up finishing second by doing this before (and third). If we do wind up losing that day, I will at least want to say we lost to one of the best teams!

Good news is we have Dave back in the mix. He recently requested to take a break, and apparently – he’s back!  I’ll have my all-female roster next week, which I mentioned to the host as she was leaving. Her response was, “I hope you have a sports person,” or something to that effect. My response to her was “Yes, one of the players DOES know sports stuff.” Which was no lie, because Kirsten does know some sports stuff. And hell…so do I! It just depends on what the “sports stuff” is, lol!
