We will be playing in a My Trivia Live semifinal game today at Maplewood Lanes Saline. This will be our seventh semifinal game we’ve played in this league, and if all goes well, we’ll earn our fourth trip to a MTL finals today. We’re hoping to break the pattern of us only qualifying for “every other” MTL finals by earning a finals spot today. Curses are made to be broken! The Red Sox had their “Curse of the Bambino,” and the Cubs had the “Curse of the Billy Goat.” We dubbed our “every other” finals curse as the Star Trek curse, with our odd numbered semifinals attempts tending to go poorly, just like the odd-numbered Star Trek films tended to be shitty. What do I have to say about this? Well, this might be better said by Captain Jean-Luc Picard himself…

Star Trek: Generations was the seventh of the Star Trek films, but featured both the original cast and the “Next Generation” cast, so maybe this can be considered a “reset!” The only bright side will be if we DON’T qualify, we’ll be able to leave earlier for our cabin trip next weekend and not have to leave right after the MTL finals. But obviously we’ll be happy with either scenario…Go Pods!
