Well, tonight’s the night! It’s the last Sporcle Live night of the trivia season. We have just one more game to go before next week’s venue tournament, which will decide which Arbor Brewing Company team will advance to the league championship April 15.
We’re only sitting in seventh place in the bar’s standings overall, and have missed a couple of games. Our “average” score per night is about 117 points, which means…we’ve been…surviving! We’ve been battling some tough final questions, and we usually just have four players. At this bar, a team our size or smaller is considered “fun sized!” Come on now, who doesn’t like those miniature candy bars? Mmmm…chocolate (I digress)!
We’re not TOO hopeful that the winning team next week will be us, but we’ll still be battling for that chance all the same. This will be the first time we’ve been in contention for a finals spot at “Corner” since October, 2015, when we just narrowly missed that chance (by a mere four points). A recap of that game can be viewed here. A “popular baby names” mystery round proved to be a contributor to our demise, as the team that beat us and won the finals spot had a couple of players who had recently become new parents! You just never know what will give a team an edge in this game…
Looking ahead to next season, we’ll be trying an “every other” plan. Sounds more confusing than it is! We have a player who is available every other Tuesday, so we’ll play Tuesdays on some weeks. On the odd weeks, we’ll be playing Thursdays at an another trivia spot. There may be weeks when we’ll play in BOTH spots, depending upon work schedules, moon phases, and trivial itches that might need to be scratched (you get the drift)! We’ll be taking the summer season off from playing at “Corner,” and will re-evaluate the following season whether we will return – or continue seeking greener pastures! Our team is nothing if not a picky and opinionated bunch, and sometimes it’s difficult to find “the” trivia spot/night that all of our players agree on. And that’s an understatement! It’s pretty much downright IMPOSSIBLE. We’ve considered recruiting the brains at NASA with this wily task, lol…

All of that said, we’ll have a recap of this game posted Thursday, so stay tuned! Go Pods!
