A couple of my players had to beg off for trivia tonight – one because of a sick dog, the other because of a gout flareup threatening to attack his foot. Yeah, it’s a bitch… so I decided to call off our regular game at the Corner Brewery. The dog guy owns Scottish deerhounds, which are decidedly a very…inbred lot of dogs. Deerhound owners are lucky if their dogs manage to live 10 years, but 7-8 years seems to be a more common life span for this unhealthy breed, unfortunately…

I may go out for a solo MTL game at a former “local”  haunt tonight, though I haven’t decided that yet. I do know that going to Corner by myself means having to arrive an hour early without someone to talk to since I’ll have to “hold” a table…Uh, no!

I’m not concerned about what this will do to our standings at the bar. At all. We’ve already played the minimum games to qualify for the venue tournament April 4, and that is pretty much the only game that matters. I have made no real push to get players to this game – or finals, anyway, so who knows who’ll be able to show up! My concern about having our team qualify for finals in the Sporcle league is dwindling by the day. Plus, it’s all part of our “don’t sweat the small stuff” playbook this trivia season!
