It’s time for a halftime report! Yes, we’re about halfway through this current Sporcle Live trivia season, so we can look at the standings for Oscar’s Sports and Grill and see a letter “y” by our team name. Which means “yes,” as in “Yes, we’ve qualified to play in the venue tournament.” We’re in first place in the standings there, but only because we’re the only team which has been there every week! ‘We might have a soloist representing us on Saturday, though it’s not quite confirmed yet! Having bench warmers is nothing new for our team, after all! We had a couple of “hired goons” sub for us in October of 2016, and wouldn’t you know THAT was a game where they actually asked for the name of one of only two females ever convicted of piracy – which the goons didn’t know – but I would’ve known! Pirates is one of my pet categories, after all (argh)! Murphy’s law of trivia – miss a game, and that’s when it’s guaranteed they’ll ask something only you would know! A couple of our players have a bit of vacation time coming up, so if you’re itching to read trivia recaps during that time, maybe we’ll post some “reruns” for you to peruse. Or you could just record a bunch of episodes of “Jeopardy!” on your DVR! Really, there are people who do that! A couple of exciting things coming up – My Trivia Live semifinals Saturday, Oct. 14, where we will have our same lineup from the last championship vying for a spot in finals Saturday, Oct. 21. We’ll also be sending a “soloist” out to play a random MTL game within the next couple of weeks, since we will be missing our game next week at The Wurst Bar, we’ll be playing “get out of  jail free card” for that game. There are plans to possibly hit up a different Sporcle venue within the next couple of weeks as well. We are like pirates, after all – what fun is trivia if you don’t get to sail the seas every now and then? On that note, we’ll see y’all in the next recap on Thursday afternoon!
