We had a question about Rocky Balboa in our My Trivia Live game Wednesday at The Wurst Bar, which asked who was victorious in the boxing match at the end of the first “Rocky” film. Maybe we were taking a page from Rocky’s playbook Wednesday when we entered the trivia “ring,” bruised and battered from two consecutive defeats which left us out of the prize zone! Maybe all of those motivational speeches from our cigar-chomping boxing coach paid off – we won first place/$30 after wisely wagering zero on a tough final question. Shout out to John for being the star of the game and for using my pretty, pretty pink pen

Final Category – Annual Events
What annual event beginning in 1970 determined its winners by a vote among the players? Now winners of that tournament are determined by being the best at what they do. I THINK I have the gist of the question, I really didn’t write it down very well. Our new team policy is, “Whenever questions are too wordy, wager zero. This time, we did…Top two teams – Tipsy Gypsies (knew the answer but only wagered 1 point), and ‘Pods, 63. That’s all folks, until next time, which will be Saturday for Sporcle Live with Liz and her 700th game at Oscar’s! We will not be Invading Original Gravity again tonight, but will most likely be back next week for a couple of things! One, trivia Thursday, and two, Oktoberfest on Saturday! Look for our next recap on Sunday, until then, Go Pods, and stay classy, Burt Young from “Rocky.” Anyone else remember his character from “The Sopranos?” Aging hit man, thought he’d keel over and die while taking someone else out…
